Water conservation is a growing environmental concern. The Part G Building Regulations cover water efficiency and the requirement to use appliances that use water efficiently.
The good practice guidance for a water softener is it should not use more than 4% of its capacity for regeneration.
The calculations below show Tapworks water softeners are well within that guideline.
The figures below are based on a UK average water hardness of 300ppm.
NSC09 Pro water softener will use a maximum of 45 litres of water to regenerate after creating 1690 litres of softened water.
= 2.66% of its capacity
NSC11Pro water softener will use a maximum of 49 litres of water to regenerate after creating 2266 litres of softened water.
= 2.16% of its capacity
NSC14Pro water softener will use a maximum of 52 litres of water to regenerate after creating 2648 litres of softened water.
= 1.96% of its capacity
The good news is that because of the Tapworks proportional regeneration, our water softeners work in a way that makes them even more efficient than the statistics show.
